TMM Community Leaders

Helping ensure no motherless mother has to navigate grief alone

Why this role matters

At TMM, we believe every motherless mother deserves a safe, welcoming community close to home. Our Community Leaders make this possible by creating local spaces where women can connect, share their experiences, and feel understood by others who truly "get it."

As a Community Leader, you'll help build meaningful local connections, ensuring that no mother has to face grief in isolation. Whether you're hosting a coffee morning, a walk, or another relaxed gathering, you'll be helping create a compassionate community where women feel seen, supported, and less alone.

What you'll do

As a TMM Community Leader, you'll:

  • Organise and host regular, informal local meet-ups for motherless mothers

  • Find welcoming, accessible venues in your local area

  • Be the friendly face who welcomes new members into the community

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and compassionate environment for everyone attending

  • Share information about TMM's services, events, and opportunities where appropriate

  • Work closely with the TMM team to help grow your local community

  • Let us know how your group is doing and share ideas, feedback, and successes

What you'll bring

  • Compassion, warmth, and excellent listening skills

  • A genuine desire to help other bereaved mothers feel connected and supported

  • Confidence bringing people together in a welcoming environment

  • Good organisation and communication skills

  • Reliability and a commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces

  • An understanding of confidentiality and respectful boundaries

You don't need previous experience leading groups—we'll provide the guidance and support you need. If you care about helping women feel less alone, we'd love to hear from you.

The support you'll receive

You won't be doing this alone. As a TMM Community Leader, you'll receive:

  • Dedicated support from our Community Development Manager

  • A Community Leader Handbook with practical guidance on planning meet-ups, finding venues, safeguarding, and promoting your group

  • Training and resources to help you feel confident in your role

  • A private Community Leaders WhatsApp group where you can connect with other leaders, ask questions, and share ideas

  • Regular check-ins from the TMM team to support you as your local community grows

Time commitment

Flexible and ongoing, with most Community Leaders hosting one meet-up each month.

What you'll get out of it

  • The opportunity to build a supportive community in your local area

  • Experience in community leadership, facilitation, and volunteer engagement

  • Training and ongoing support from the TMM team

  • Meaningful friendships and connections with other Community Leaders

  • The satisfaction of helping ensure no bereaved mother has to navigate her journey alone
