Drop-in Facilitator
Helping create safe, welcoming spaces for motherless mothers
Why this role matters
TMM’s drop‐ins offer mothers a space where they can breathe, feel understood, and connect with others who truly get it. These sessions provide comfort, community, and a sense of belonging for women navigating all forms of maternal loss; whether through death, estrangement, illness, distance, or complex relationships.
We’re looking for compassionate volunteers who can help facilitate these sessions and contribute to creating warm, supportive environments where every mother feels welcome and held.
What you’ll do
Depending on your experience and confidence, you may support with:
Welcoming attendees and helping them settle into sessions
Supporting the smooth running of online or in‐person drop‐ins
Encouraging gentle conversation while respecting individual needs and boundaries
Helping create a safe, inclusive, and compassionate atmosphere
Signposting participants to TMM services and resources where appropriate
Providing practical support before, during, or after sessions
What you’ll bring
Compassion, empathy, and good listening skills
A calm, steady, supportive presence
Respect for confidentiality and sensitive conversations
Reliability and a commitment to creating safe spaces
Experience in facilitation, peer support, or community groups is welcome but not essential
If you’re unsure whether you “tick every box”, please reach out — care, curiosity, and willingness matter more than experience.
Time commitment
Flexible, depending on session schedules and your availability
What you’ll get out of it
Experience facilitating peer‐support spaces
Training and insight into bereavement‐informed and grief‐aware support
The opportunity to make a direct, meaningful difference in mothers’ lives
Connection with a supportive volunteer community
A role that helps women feel less alone
